The Ambassador rode in WeRide’s Robotaxi GXR, a mass‑produced model specifically designed for urban mobility scenarios. The GXR features the world’s first hidden B‑pillar design in a Robotaxi and supports seating for up to five passengers. It offers one of the largest entry/exit spaces and interior space in the industry, delivering an exceptionally spacious and comfortable rider experience.

Equipped with WeRide’s self‑developed HPC 3.0 high‑performance computing platform, the Robotaxi GXR delivers advanced L4 autonomous driving capabilities on public roads. The platform processes over 20 quadrillion (20 PFLOPS) complex calculations per second, enabling the vehicle to handle dense traffic flows, intersection merges, and pedestrian interactions with high decision‑making efficiency and smooth driving performance.

At the end of the ride, Ambassador Ambrosetti praised the Robotaxi GXR's overall performance, describing the ride as “very comfortable and safe.” He also exchanged views with WeRide on potential deployment scenarios and development plans for autonomous driving technology in Italy.
