WeRide granted ISO 26262:2018 Road Vehicle Functional Safety ASIL-D Process Certificate
Guangzhou, June 8, 2023 -- WeRide announced the official achievement of the ISO 26262:2018 Road Vehicle Functional Safety ASIL-D process certificate (hereinafter referred to as "ISO 26262"). The certificate was issued by the globally renowned certification body UL Solutions. This milestone follows WeRide's ISO/SAE 21434 Automotive Cybersecurity Process Certification in May, signifying international recognition for WeRide in both its automotive cybersecurity and the development of vehicle functional safety systems. This achievement is pivotal for the company's efforts in scaling up its mass production and application of autonomous driving technology.

The ISO 26262 standard is currently the globally recognized automotive functional safety process standard, covering the entire lifecycle, including functional safety management, concept phase development, system phase development, hardware phase development, software phase development, support processes, safety analysis, and product release. Through the guidance and application of standardized technical specifications, it aims to ensure that functional failures of safety-related electronic and electrical products do not pose a risk during driving, reducing traffic accidents caused by functional failures of electronic and electrical products.
After more than a year of project practice, WeRide has passed a series of rigorous audits and ultimately obtained the ISO 26262:2018 Road Vehicle Functional Safety ASIL-D Process Certificate issued by UL Solutions.
