WeRide's Autonomous Fleet Exceeds 100 Vehicles: Advancing from Fully Open Robotaxi Operations to Full Unmanned Driving

After over 100 days of fully open Robotaxi operations, WeRide has publicly unveiled its fleet of more than 100 autonomous vehicles for the first time. Since its inception, WeRide’s autonomous vehicle fleet has been continuously expanding. As of April 2020, WeRide's fleet of Level 4 autonomous vehicles in China and the U.S. exceeded 100 vehicles across six different models. Over 40 of these vehicles are used for WeRide's fully open Robotaxi operations in Huangpu District and the Development Zone of Guangzhou, while the remaining 60 are used for road testing. The fleet includes models such as the Lincoln MKZ, the 2019 Nissan LEAF2, the GAC GE3, the GAC Aion LX, the newly launched XPeng P7, and the Dongfeng Nissan Sylphy EV specifically for Robotaxi operations. As one of the earliest teams to engage in autonomous driving startups in China, WeRide has synchronized with the pulse of China's autonomous driving development and achieved several industry milestones:

• November 2018: Released China's first Level 4 autonomous taxi
• August 2019: Established a Robotaxi operation joint venture, WeRide RoboTaxi, with Baiyun Taxi Group and Science City Group
• Late November 2019: Launched China's first fully open Robotaxi operation service
• February 2020: Released China's first Robotaxi operation report. In the first month of operation (December 2019), they completed 8,396 ride orders with zero safety incidents, averaging 270.8 trips per day, with a maximum of 438 orders in a single day, totaling 41,140 kilometers, and serving 4,683 users
