WeRide's Robosweeper S1 Initiated Commercial Operation in Guangdong Shantou

Recently, WeRide in collaboration with Guangdong Huadalong City Management Service Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huadalong") has jointly initiated the commercial implementation of WeRide's Robosweeper S1 in Shantou, Guangdong. This marks Shantou's first L4-level commercial autonomous sanitation project and the debut of WeRide's S1 Robosweeper in Shantou and the greater eastern Guangdong region. Since June this year, WeRide Robosweeper S1 has undergone safety tests at Chaoren Wharf Square in Shantou, and it will carry out regular driverless sanitation operations covering both day and night throughout the Haibin Road area after the trial operation concludes. Located on the west section of Haibin Road, Chaoren Wharf connects the historical cultural axis of the old town and is a popular landmark showcasing the port characteristics of Shantou.

Released in April this year, WeRide Robosweeper S1 is the world's first L4 level autonomous sanitation equipment capable of full-scene coverage for open roads, featuring 360-degree all-around perception and operational capabilities, suitable for various hard surfaces, and can operate in squares, side roads, sidewalks, and other road environments, covering an area of over 120,000 square meters on a single charge. The debut of WeRide Robosweeper S1 at Chaoren Wharf in Shantou has enabled cooperation between traditional sanitation and human-machine collaboration, attracting attention from several media outlets. In a report by the Shantou Daily, sanitation worker Cheng Longchao told reporters: "This vehicle is not afraid of high temperatures or cold, improving the quality of sanitation work and reducing the intensity of cleaning operations, thus lessening the burden on us sanitation workers." As a coastal area, Chaoren Wharf often faces harsh weather conditions such as high temperatures and strong winds. WeRide Robosweeper S1 is undaunted by extreme environments, able to automatically awaken, follow preset routes for patrolling and cleaning, and complete automatic waste disposal, becoming a powerful assistant for outdoor sanitation workers. During the trial operation, project partner Huadalong also praised the cleaning effect of WeRide Robosweeper S1. Project manager Li Jian mentioned in an interview with a reporter from the Shantou Daily: "This autonomous driving sanitation vehicle has shown very good trial results." He stated that there are plans to further deploy autonomous sanitation equipment to wider areas such as Haibin Road, Jinhuan Road, and Yuejin Road, contributing to improving the quality and efficiency of Shantou's sanitation work.
