WeRide becomes the first enterprise to be approved for passenger demonstration operation in Shenzhen with autonomous driving minibus

Recently, WeRide has successively obtained the "Shenzhen Intelligent Connected Vehicle Road Test License" and the "Shenzhen Intelligent Connected Vehicle Demonstration Application License", becoming the first enterprise to be approved for passenger demonstration operation in Shenzhen with a front-mounted mass-produced autonomous driving minibus. This marks the official landing of WeRide in Shenzhen and is an important milestone for the company's deep layout of autonomous driving technology in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

After obtaining the license, WeRide can carry out the first front-mounted mass-produced autonomous driving minibus micro-cycle passenger demonstration operation in Nanshan District and Longhua District of Shenzhen in accordance with the relevant requirements of the "Management Specification for Intelligent Connected Vehicle Road Testing and Demonstration Applications (Trial)", the "Implementation Rules for the Management of Intelligent Connected Vehicle Road Testing and Demonstration Applications in Shenzhen", and the laws and regulations on road traffic safety, providing automatic driving bus services for citizens. This is also the only autonomous driving minibus project in this batch of intelligent connected vehicle demonstration application licenses.

During the application process for this intelligent connected vehicle demonstration application, WeRide's autonomous driving minibus fully demonstrated the company's safety leadership in autonomous driving technology. In addition to the autonomous driving function testing in the closed test field, it also achieved excellent results of "1000 kilometers in the closed test field without any takeover" and "1000 kilometers on public roads without any takeover", which were highly recognized by expert reviews and joint working groups.
